"Let's call it love"
Emotionally strong music and a static picture of a phonograph that has lost its status due to the appearance of other audio devices are disrupted by the accompanying sound and later by dominant images of war plane manoeuvres. A pessimistic spirit caused by the helplessness we feel at the sight of media embellishment of war machinery permeates this work…
Author: Breda Beban (Novi Sad, 1952)
Graduated from the Academy of Applied Arts in Zagreb in 1976. She completed her postgraduate course in Zagreb in 1982 and at Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. Breda Beban exhibited her works independently or in group exhibitions at numerous biennial shows and film and video festivals on four continents. She is the winner of several international video art awards. Since 1998, she teaches Critical Theory and Film Direction at the Northern Media School in Sheffield, England.

"6=36" (2001, 21')
In a Kragujevac suburb, six friends living in the same building meet at the author's birthday party. Each of them gets the chance to speak into the camera and give his opinion about himself and his friends. These statements reflect the state of a generation. The work was awarded the first prize at the "Oktobarski salon" exhibition in 2001.
Author: Miodrag Krkobabic (Kraljevo, 1971)
Graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Fine Arts. He is currently a postgraduate student. His works were exhibited at two solo exhibitions in Yugoslavia and a number of group shows in several European countries and Canada. He won various art scholarships.

"Marta and her friends" (2000, 10')
At first sight, this work seems to be a cartoon showing a number of carefree topics. However, in this incoherent and banal story a sharp criticism of idle bourgeois everyday life can be discerned…
Author: Margareta Stanojlovic (Belgrade, 1967)
Graduated from the Department of Painting of the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade in 1992. She is a member of ULUS (Association of Fine Artists of Serbia) and ULUPUDS (Association Of Applied Artists and Designers of Serbia) since 1997. In 2000 she became a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Austria BVO (Berufsverband Bildender Kunstler Osterreichs). Her works were exhibited at several solo exhibitions in Yugoslavia and a number of group shows in the country and abroad.



"Death in Dallas" (2001, 22')
A single by Jozo Karamatic, a gusle player from Herzegovina, appeared soon after the assassination of the former US president John F. Kennedy. It featured a song about this tragic event. Thirty years later, the author gets hold of the record which provided the inspiration for this work. Applying the method of combining documentary footage shown on TV and this particular folk song sang to the accompaniment of the gusle a dramatic effect is achieved as the plot unfolds…

Graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Fine Arts in 1986. His works were exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions in the country and abroad. Participated in numerous foreign video art festivals.

"How to become a great artist" (2001, 10')
Vladimir tries to persuade Vera to master the skills necessary for a contemporary artist in order to become famous. We are watching a set of video instructions for adopting and practicing the rules of a behaviour that guarantees success.

Graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Fine Arts in 1999. Completed her postgraduate course at the same faculty 1999-2002. She exhibited her works in Vancouver, Novi Sad, Warsaw, Belgrade, Ljubljana, Subotica, Strasbourg, Bratislava…

POSTERS:

"Ten with onions - ten with difficulty" (2000, embroidered cloth)
Authors: SKART (REJECTS) + ZENA (WOMAN) - Association of Single Mothers from Zemun (drawing: Dusica Tomic, embroidery: Lenka Zelenovic)
SKART are: Dragan Protic and Djordje Balmazovic (1965).
They graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade. During the nineties, they carried out artistic campaigns and participated in numerous exhibitions in the country and abroad. The members of the SKART art group were awarded a number of art and design prizes, as well as European and American art scholarships.

Author: Sasa Stojanovic (Leskovac, 1968)
Graduated from the Department of Painting of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Pristina. His works were exhibited at several solo and group exhibitions in Novi Sad, Belgrade, Nis, Leskovac, Cacak, Pristina and Vranje where his performances could also be seen.

Author: Ana Adamovic (Belgrade, 1974)
Graduated from World Literature Department at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade. Throughout 1998, she studied photography at the Art Institute of Boston. Her works were exhibited at three solo and a number of group exhibitions.

Author: Smiljana Pesic (Belgrade, 1972)
Graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. Her works were exhibited in Belgrade, Kanagawa, Barcelona, Devitrie and Vrsac. She is currently a postgraduate student of graphic design and multimedia.

Author: Slavoljub Zivanovic - Zli
Studied camera at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts. His works were exhibited at several solo and group exhibitions in the country and abroad. Collaborated on various projects by well-known Yugoslav video artists and shot a number of video clips for the biggest stars of Yugoslav entertainment industry.

Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1999. He is currently a postgraduate student. He also attended courses at the School for History and Theory of Art from 1999 to 2001. His works were exhibited at three solo and a number of group exhibitions in the country and abroad.

Author: Uros Djuric (Belgrade, 1964)
Graduated from the Department of Painting of the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1992 where he received his MA degree in 1998. He first appeared on the local artistic scene in 1998 when he founded the Autonomist Movement together with Stevan Markus. They wrote the Autonomist Manifesto in 1994. He exhibits throughout Europe. He is also the founder and member of Remont - an independent artist association. Since 1992, he has been working as an independent Radio B92 host.

Author: Tanja Ostojic (Uzice, 1972)
Graduated in 1995, received her MA in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. 1998-1999 attended a postgraduate course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nantes. Her works were exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions; she also organized and took part in different performances and campaigns in the country and abroad. She is a member of the Board of Founders of the independent artist association "Remont".
