The exhibition showed the life of the Romany in Belgrade (their customs, attitude towards education, pointed to the problems that arise when it comes to their participation in social and political institutions. special attention was paid to the fate of Romany people during the Second World War) as well as to the attitude of the city towards them (both the attitude of the Belgrade city authorities and that of citizens).

The exhibition included a segment dedicated to the history of the Romany community (in which the material found in archives, libraries and museums was shown), as well as a series of slides that created an impression that the visitors found themselves in a Romany settlement. Video material about Romany public service workers was featured. The Romany also described themselves through documents and interviews.

The project still attracts reactions - mainly ideas and suggestions of the Romany citizens of Belgrade on how the exhibition can be continued or expanded.

Accompanying events included the following seminars: "Political position of the Romany in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia", "Romany future - young people and society", "Romany women and fertility", and a discussion on discrimination and racism organized in association with the Committee for Romany Issues of the Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Society for Improvement of Romany Settlements, YU Rom Centre from Nis, and Federal Ministry of National and Ethnic Communities.

The campaign in the city was based on the promotion of the whole idea of the project that could be summed up in the following motto "equality for Romany people and freedom of choice." 30 billboards were plastered with posters, 50,000 flyers distributed in various public places in the city.

The media part included broadcasting a series of radio and TV jingles drawing attention to different aspects of life of the Romany in Belgrade.

All material collected in the course of project-related preparations can be found on a CD-Rom (in Serbian, English and Romany). It is now available to a wide audience and numerous users even after the exhibition ended.
